WOW!!!! I think we can all agree that this is not good!

Morris: Kerry Likely to Tap Hillary for VP

If Sen. John Kerry winds up as the Democratic nominee next summer, the first phone call he's likely to make is to Sen. Hillary Clinton - to ask her to be his running mate.

That's the prediction of Dick Morris, whose advice made Bill Clinton the only Democratic president since FDR to win re-election.

"Now that Howard Dean is clearly not going to be the nominee, there is a very good chance that Hillary will be the vice presidential candidate," Morris told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" Wednesday night.

"I would flat-out predict that whoever wins this nomination makes the first phone call to Hillary to ask her to run," he said.

Hillary should take the offer from Kerry or whoever else sews up the nomination, says Morris, as the best way to assure Sen. Clinton her own stint as president.

"If I were advising her right now, I would say take it, because you're not going to lose by a lot," Morris urged. "And if a Democrat wins, if Kerry wins, how is she going to stay fresh for eight years in the Senate?"

The one-time White House political guru noted also that if someone other than Hillary takes the VP slot and wins, she'll have another rival to contend with for her own White House bid.

The only way that would happen is if Kerry has a real shot at winning...Hillary would rather see Bush win then she has a clear run at the nomination.
Keryy has no shot right now...Bush hasn't even warmed up his campaign yet.

Hillary would work to provide every American with healthcare ..

I think she would be one of the most productive VPs in history.

Thank God for this great woman

Except for the fact that she should have booted her cheating husband out the door, I love this woman.

But I agree with Patriot ... Hillary stands a better than average chance of becoming the Democratic leader in 2008, so why mess with that now? (Yes, much to my chagrin, I think Bush is going to win again.) I think she'll sit back and wait this one out.

Dick Morris is OBSESSED with the Clintons and makes all kinds of statements now pretending that e knows their every thought while in fact he knows nothing. Nothing more than a pure guess. But everythin he says incolves the Clintons in one way or another. If you want the definition of a hasbeen, Dick Morris is it. He's the one who said Dean had it wrapped up months ago. The guy is really clueless.

She is obviously very intelligent and I like her politics, but she lacks Bill's charm and there are questions about her ability to compromise and form the cooperative-type coaltions that I'm sure she'll need to govern effectively as president......

Kerry would need help in the south, so I see him picking Edwards unless his campaign really falls off the map.

KMAN I'm sure you do, Nothing scares the right more than the word Hillary. Seriously imo. she has her sights set on 2008. Losing in 04 as second banana will only cost her political prestige, not to mention the NY senate seat she sits in. Why buck GW. now? By 08 the Republicans will be easy pickens.

There easy pickings now. I'm not a Kerry fan, but with the level of hate for this administration, almost any Democrat can win. Please remember as far as I know there won't be an independent stealing votes from the Democrats this time. Even if Bush pulls OBL out of his ass next December his days are numbered, bet on it!

"Hillary would work to provide every American with healthcare .."

What a joke. I thought Hillary was supposed to solve the healthcare issue back in '94? What a disaster that was. And that was with Congress controlled by the Democrats and her husband as President. If she couldn't succeed at 'fixing' healthcare under those circumstances, what makes you think she could now?

The obvious fact that she would be holding the vice presidency.

Yeah but if she couldn't sell a viable healthcare plan to a Democrat-controlled congress back in '94 (while her husband was President and had made a campaign promise on the issue), what makes you think she could get something through what will almost certainly be a Republican-controlled congress next year??

Also, I would argue she had more power as First Lady back then than she would have as Kerry's Vice-President. Think about it.

She won't play 2nd fiddle to any one...Her dream is to have Bush win..If she was to be VP she might not have a shot for Pres. till 0/12.
Clintons machine will help to derail kerry...the same way they did to "Moe" Howard Dean.
Hillary is finished if Guilliani runs for senate in '06...I can only dream.

He wouldn't be the only one "tapping" Hillary.

Seriously though.....IMO theres about as much chance of that happening as there is Patriot rooting for the Panthers.
